Be part of the Respect Campaign and join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy and Surfrider Foundation - NYC Chapter for a beach and marsh cleanup at Rockaway Community Park! Rockaway Community Park is comprised of 253-acres of open space on Jamaica Bay. The park offers visitors incredible views of Jamaica Bay and is a prime location for bird watching. Beyond the natural areas within Rockaway Community Park, the park is home to a number of active recreation opportunities, including playgrounds, basketball courts, ballfields. Join us as we remove debris from this important shoreline!
In order to ensure your health and safety, please make sure to follow the socially distant volunteer guidelines found at jbrpc.org/volunteer along with local, state and federal guidance related to COVID-19. A face covering is required, and social distancing will be practiced throughout the event. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available.
Gloves, bags, tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed toe shoes, and bring their own water and sunscreen. Event is rain or shine.
For your safety, participation will be limited. Please review the Socially Distant Volunteer Guidelines before registering and only register if you are healthy and able to attend.
