World Water Day Cleanup at Plumb Beach

  • Plumb Beach (Gateway National Recreation Area) United States (map)

Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy for a shoreline cleanup at Gateway National Recreation Area’s Plumb Beach.

Volunteers will help remove trash and debris from Plumb Beach’s important shorelines, wetlands, and Greenway while enjoying incredible views of Jamaica Bay! In addition, volunteers will have the opportunity to help maintain shoreline sand fencing and assist in graffiti removal to further protect and beautify Plumb Beach! World Water Day is an annual event that brings together thousands of volunteers to celebrate and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources worldwide.

Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring their own water and sunscreen. The event is rain or shine.
