Staff from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be leading local volunteers during this statewide environmental stewardship event.
Join us at one of the parks below to help protect and restore habitat used by local wildlife and community members. Your effort will be rewarded with friendly faces, fresh air, and a free I Love My Park Day t-shirt.
▐ Bayswater Point State Park

Ages: All ages welcome
Volunteer Projects: Planting native shrubs in a small meadow restoration area and a beach clean-up
Please bring: Water and sturdy shoes
Meeting Location: Sunset Lodge located at 14-79 Point Breeze Place, Far Rockaway, Queens. Drive to the end of Mott Avenue and turn right onto Point Breeze Place. It is the large yellow house on the left.

Norton Basin Natural Resource Area
Date and Time: Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 10 AM - 12 PM
Ages: All ages welcome
Volunteer Projects: Planting 30 shrubs and trees, and a trail and beach clean-up. Binoculars will be provided to observe shorebirds and songbirds.
Please bring: Water, sunscreen, and dress for tick safety by wearing long pants, long socks, and sturdy shoes. For more information about tick safety, visit the CDC website.
Meeting Location: Parking is available on Healy Avenue. Entrance is marked by a NYSDEC sign.
