World Wetlands Day is celebrated each year to raise awareness about the importance of marshes, estuaries. peatlands and swamps — some of the world’s most productive ecosystems. This year’s agenda includes:

Youth in Action: Hear from Easter Queens Alliance’s “Roots & Shoots” youth (ages 13-20) about the Idlewild Wetlands and how to get involved in this environmental leadership program.

Jamaica Bay Wetlands Fellowship Opportunity: Anil Pasram, Stewardship Programs Manager at Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy will present on our workforce development program, its past accomplishments and how to get involved in 2025.

ECO Bingo: Play a wetlands-themed game of bingo for a chance to win a prize!
