Join us for our author talk series at Floyd Bennett Field and learn about this history of this iconic site!

Visit Floyd Bennett Field's former terminal building (now the historic Ryan Visitor Center) for the second of two author talks on the history of New York's first municipal airport and the communities that have made use of the site. Our second event, "Barren Island: A Most Self-Contained Community" will feature a discussion with teacher and historian Miriam Sicherman, author of Brooklyn's Barren Island: A Forgotten History , moderated by New York City tour guide Lloyd Trufelman.

Floyd Bennett Field, Revealed! is a series of free events brought to you by Gateway National Recreation Area and Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy as part of an initiative to activate the park as a premier destination for recreation and enjoyment of nature. This events is co-sponsored by Brooklyn and Queens Public Libraries.
