Reconnecting with nature

Join us in improving public parkland while having fun, enjoying the outdoors and building skills that will help your team thrive!

Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy (JBRPC) is a public-private partnership established in 2013 dedicated to improving 10,000 acres of public parklands throughout Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway peninsula, 18,000 acres of open water and marshlands within Jamaica Bay itself, and 12 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches along the Rockaway peninsula. Our organization offers one-of-a-kind team-building experiences along some of the most beautiful and diverse shorelines in New York City. From vast natural areas to Jamaica Bay’s famous marsh islands, JBRPC can tailor a unique team-building experience for your group. We look forward to working with your team!
  • Our volunteer experiences are curated to accommodate the size, interests, and needs of your team. Each project is unique and addresses the current needs of one of the over 35 parks in Brooklyn and Queens we support in partnership with the National Park Service, New York City Parks and New York State Parks. Parks in Jamaica Bay and the Rockaways offer a unique and exciting connection to nature, collectively hosting over 325 species of birds, 50 species of butterflies, and 100 species of fish, that make for a thrilling and meaningful day out of the office. Past projects have included shoreline clean-ups, painting a mural in a local playground, beach grass and/or tree plantings, marsh island plantings, invasive plant removal, trail building, and much more!

JBRPC will provide all needed supplies, snacks and drinks, and secure necessary permits. If you would like to have food available, or setup a breakfast or lunch, please contact us and we will be happy to help coordinate with you.  In accordance with New York State law, all contributions are tax-deductible less the value of goods received.

  • Corporate volunteers are a critical resource in our mission of improving and supporting parkland in Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway peninsula. Your sponsorship helps fund JBRPC public events, tools and equipment, free public programs, increased recreational amenities, and community engagement efforts throughout the neighborhoods we serve.

To schedule a volunteer experience that fits your needs please contact us at info@jbrpc.org or call 347-690-0931.

JBRPC’s corporate volunteer opportunities give our employees a chance to build teamwork and give back meaningfully in the communities where we live and work, all while enjoying the incredible parkland throughout Jamaica Bay.

United by Blue volunteers remove trash from Jamaica Bay Park shoreline on Blue Friday, 2018.

United By Blue partnered with the Conservancy on coastline cleanup projects that removed thousands of pounds of trash from Jamaica Bay waterways. The JBRPC team is knowledgeable and engaging, and this allows volunteers to have a positive and rewarding experience while giving back to their local natural areas. Through this partnership, we not only helped the Conservancy achieve its mission of caring for public parkland, but it also allowed us as a company to engage new communities and fulfill our mission of removing a pound of trash from our waterways for every product we sell.”
