Native Plant Restoration and Cleanup at Jamaica Bay Park

Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, the Natural Areas Conservancy, and NYC Parks for a native plant restoration and cleanup at Jamaica Bay Park. Jamaica Bay Park is an important natural area in Jamaica Bay and is a favorite spot for migratory shorebirds! The park also hosts a natural area trail connecting to nearby Bayswater Point State Park. Volunteers will plant native shrubs and trees and clean the forest and shoreline.

In order to ensure your health and safety, ​please make sure to follow the socially distant volunteer guidelines found at jbrpc.org/volunteer.  A face covering is required, and social distancing will be practiced throughout the event. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available.

Gloves, bags, and tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring their own water and sunscreen. Event is rain or shine.

Registration is required and participation is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please review the Socially Distant Volunteer Guidelines before registering and only register if you are healthy and able to attend.
